Every great leader has a vision, even when it’s still taking shape. Your Visionary Interest Position, or VIP, is the space where that vision becomes clear — where purpose, passion, and opportunity intersect.
To discover your VIP, start by asking yourself a few key questions:
- What is your vision, and why does it matter to you?
- Which position are you ultimately striving toward?
- What about that position excites or calls you forward?
- Why this opportunity, and why now?
These questions are about connecting your leadership journey to what truly matters to you. When you understand your “why,” you can lead with clarity and confidence.
When I work with leaders, I often help them explore this clarity so they can move beyond titles or promotions and focus on something deeper: the impact they want to make. Whether your goal is to advance to a principal role, step into a new level of responsibility, or lead a more inspired team, knowing your Visionary Interest Position gives you direction.
The more clearly you can define it, the more intentionally you can act. And when you align your purpose with your actions, people notice. They’re drawn to your energy, your focus, and your authenticity — because artful engagement begins with knowing yourself first.
